TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The managers of Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) have many stories about how they respond to the advocate Fredrich Yunadi’s case. Peradi Deputy Secretary-General Rivai Kusumanegara admitted regretting if there is no coordination or communication from the KPK toward his institution.
According to Rivai, his institution has always respected the action of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) towards Fredrich Yunadi. Peradi, said Rivai, is among those who support corruption eradication efforts by the KPK. For example, Peradi refused to attend when they were invited by the House of Representatives to discuss the Special Committee for the KPK Rights of Questionnaires.

Even when Frederich Yunadi became a public polemic, when being Setya Novanto’s lawyer, Rivai said that Peradi took part in approaching and coaching. "As a result, Frederich began to less appear in public and even resigned as Setya Novanto’s legal advisor," Rivai told Tempo, who contacted him on Sunday, January 14.
Therefore, according to Rivai, Peradi will also examine Fredrich for violations the code of ethics. Rivai said the ethics inspection will continue despite Fredrich is being held in custody by KPK.
Rivai asserted the advocate ethics inspection does not stop the criminal liability as stipulated in Article 26 Paragraph 6 of Law No. 18 of 2003 on Advocates. He hopes, KPK will not inhibit the process. "If at any time the information is needed in the trial of ethics, it can be helped. The problem is, if the prisoner is not allowed to leave, the trial will be inhibited," he said.
Rivai expects that KPK gives Peradi the opportunity to do their job or at least to run linear in eradicating the corruption.
Previously, on Wednesday, January 10, KPK determined Fredrich as a suspect in the case of obstruction of justice or obstructing investigations in the corruption of e-KTP project with Setya Novanto as the defendant.

The doctor who handled Setya Novanto after the 'electric pole' accident incident allegedly cooperates with Fredrich Yunadi to manipulate the medical data. Both are suspected by Article 21 of Law Number 31 Year 1999 on Eradication of Corruption.
On Friday night, January 12, KPK forced pick up Fredrich Yunadi. He was arrested for not attending the KPK's call. He was arrested around South Jakarta and now has been detained at the KPK detention center.
