TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Chairman Komarudin Watabun said that PDIP will fire Trenggalek Regent Emil Elestianto Dardak (Emil Dardak) if he officially runs for the East Java regional head election representing another political party.

“We will wait for it to be official. He will be fired [from PDIP] if it is confirmed that he has become another political party’s candidate,” said Komarudin on Wednesday, November 22.

Komarudin regrets Emil’s decision to run for the 2018 East Java Gubernatorial Election accompanying Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa. Both Emil and Khofifah today received a decree of candidacy from the Democratic Party and Golkar.

The pair has also obtained endorsement from other political parties such as NasDem, the United Development Party (PPP), and Hanura.

“It’s unfortunate, Pak Emil is a young man with potential, but I guess he is just too impatient,” said Komarudin.

Emil Dardak obtained his membership from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) after he was officially nominated for the Trenggalek Regent back in 2015.
