Lightning Strikes 13 People in North Aceh, Two Killed

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - North Aceh deputy regent Fauzi Yusuf went to see victims struck by lightning who still receive treatment in PT ArunHospital in Lhokseumawe, Aceh.

He was accompanied by Dewantara district head Amir Hamzah and arrived on Saturday (7/10) at around 8:30 p.m. He stated that the government will provide aid to the victims. In addition, the government will list down the loss caused by this incident.

Lightning stroke 13 people who are mostly students residing in Asean housing complex, Dewantaradistrict. Two victims Muhammad (50) from Tambon Tunong, and M Zaki (13), a student of Al Alaq Junior High from Ulee Madon were dead.

Meanwhile, one victim Aisyah (40) from Tambon Tunong is in critical condition. The remaining 10 victims (students of Al Alaq Junior High) suffer from minor injury. These students are TM Zaki (14), Ihksan Maulana (14), Fatahilah (14), Rivki (14), Rizki Maulana (14), Suhadi (14), M. Aksa (14), TM Ulul Azmi (14), Suher (14) and M. Hilal Azmi, (14).
