Five Airports Being Set to Anticipate Mt. Agung Eruption Impact

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said that government have prepared five airports to anticipate flight diversion in Ngurah Rai International Airport caused by increasing volcanic activity of Mt. Agung.
"We have prepared airports around Bali," he said in Pemalang, Central Java on Saturday (24/9).
He said these airports include Lombok, Makassar, Banyuwangi, Surabaya, and Malang.
Despite the case, he hopes that Mt. Agung does not erupt so that there will be no disruption to flights and Bali tourism. Up to this day, he continued, flights to Bali are still normal.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport spokesperson Arie Ahsanurrohim in Denpasar on Saturday (23/9) also ensured that everything is still normal. Intensive communication is maintained with related institution to monitor the latest condition of volcanic activity of the mountain.
