TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Laskar Umat Islam Surakarta (LUIS) said it will join the Rohingya solidarity movement at the Borobudur temple in Magelang this Friday, September 8. They promise to stage a peaceful rally and will not damage the world heritage site.
"We will indeed join the action," LUIS Secretary Endro Sudarsono told Tempo on Monday.
He said that 25 people will join the rally.

According to Endro, there are other mass organizations in Solo that will join the rally. He added that Borobudur was chosen as the location for the rally due to its status as a world heritage site.
"We choose to rally there to attract the world's attention," he said.
He promised that the rally will be in order, and that there will be no damage the temple and no disturbances to the Buddhists living near the Borobudur.
"Buddhists in Indonesia are also against of the tragedy in Rohingya," he claimed.
