TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential chief of staff, Teten Masduki, said that he isn’t aware of President Jokowi’s plan regarding the alleged cabinet reshuffle that has been talked about recently.

“I don’t know when the reshuffle will take place. But what I will say is this, from time to time the President must push his ministers to perform better,” said Teten on Wednesday, July 12.

There were rumors that emerged lately, suggesting that President Jokowi is ready to reshuffle his cabinet. It was said that there would be five ministers that would be replaced.

Teten gave an example of the economy sector. Even though global economics has dropped, domestic economy was stable. “We managed to stabilize our economy even though we didn’t grow during the last two or three years,” said Teten.

President Jokowi placed extra attention to Indonesia’s economy considering that it has a huge impact towards the majority of Indonesians in general.

Whether or not there is a reshuffle, according to Teten, President Jokowi must continuously ‘whip’ his Ministers to always improve their work and society’s level of satisfaction.
