BMKG Warns Against Flash floods, Landslides as Rainy Season Peaks

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - It is cloudy in Jakarta and its neighboring towns of Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi on Saturday morning. Rain is forecast to affect those cities by noon.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that heavy rain with thunders would hit these cities evenly by noon.
In the meantime, before evening until morning on Sunday, rain with light intensity is also expected to hit Greater Jakarta.
In the meantime, Bogor and Bekasi are expected to see rain with medium intensity in the evening but the rain in the two cities are expected to stop before morning on Sunday.
BMKG also urged the people to stay vigilant in the next several weeks because some parts of Indonesia will enter the peak of the rainy seaon.
"Therefore, the impacts that it can bring are floods, landslides, flashflood, inundation, falling of the tress, slippery roads and others. Please be alert of all those things,” BMKG states.
