Indonesian Jazz Singer January Christy Dies at Age 58

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has lost another great talent, as Jazz singer from the 80s, January Christy, passed away on Friday, September 16.

January's friend and fellow singer, Ermy Kullit, confirmed the news. "I have heard that she suffered complication," said Ermy.

January, 58 years old, will be buried in Jeruk Purut Cemetary in South Jakarta.

January rose to fame with the song "Melayang", composed by jazz music group 2D, Dian Pramana Poetra dan Deddy Dhukun.
