TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Truck Association (Aptrindo) has complained about the banning of operating trucks during and ahead of Eid al-Adha. Aptrindo claimed that the government has no right to ban truck operational on National holiday.
"We can't just skip operating on holiday," said Deputy Chairman, Kyatmaja Lookman.
Kyatmaja said that the government should not ban operational for 4 days. He said that the government should instead apply open and close traffic system. "We should be allowed to pass when the traffic is is bad," he said. "The government can (also) limit our operational time."
Previously, the Transportation Ministry has banned all trucks with more than 4 wheels to operate during and ahead of Eid al-Adha. Regardless, the circular was not entirely disseminated, thus causing trucks remain operational.
