TEMPO.CO, JBanyuwangi - Prabowo-Hatta campaign team in Banyuwangi, East Java, denied Prabowo Subianto's statement that there was a fire incident in a witness' house during presidential election 2014. "There was no fire," said secretary of the Great National Movement (Gerindra) Party in Banyuwangi, Sapuan.
Prabowo Subianto has earlier mentioned in his speech before the Constitutional Court (MK) that his witness' house in Banyuwangi was set on fire. Sapuan denied the allegation and questioned where Prabowo received such information.
Totok Hariyanto, member of the Electoral Supervision Committee in Banyuwangi, supported Sapuan's statement and said they only received a report on Prabowo's port under stone attack. Commissioner Sudjarwo from Banyuwangi Police also supported the statement. However, he said the stoning incident cannot be related to the election, as it also attacked surrounding houses. "It was a mere crime."
