TEMPO.CO, Banjarnegara - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) geophysics station in Banjarnegara, Central Java, will observe the total lunar eclipse that is predicted to occur on Saturday, July 28.

The upcoming total lunar eclipse is said to be the decade’s longest-lasting eclipse with a 103-minute duration.  “The observation will start at 01:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) at the Banjarnegara Geophysics Station headquarters,” said the head of Banjarnegara Geophysics Station Setyoajie Prayoedhie today, July 24.

According to Setyoajie, the total lunar eclipse can be observed across Indonesia under clear skies. “The lunar eclipse can be observed with the naked eye, but of course, using a telescope or camera would be better,” he reminded.

According to BMKG’s records, the lunar eclipse sequence will begin with a partial lunar eclipse in 01:24 and will continue to the start of the total lunar eclipse in 02:30 which predicted to peak at 03:21 and completely end at 05:19.
