Sandiaga Uno Reveals Phase 2 Concept of Tanah Abang Revamp

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno will prioritize the Blok G merchants in the second phase of Tanah Abang revamp. Two locations will be used as relocation places.

“PD Pasar Jaya president director pak Arief Nasrudin will announce the detail," said Sandiaga on Monday, April 9.

The next stage plan is the construction of a sky bridge. The auction process is handled by PD Pembangunan Sarana Jaya. “It will accommodate the merchants,” he said.

According to Sandiaga, the auction process will take about 45 days. The construction is targeted to be completed in two to three months.

Sandiaga mentioned that the sky bridge connects the railway station (KRL) with the shopping centers in Tanah Abang, also as a pedestrian and trade activity.

Previously, Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno explained the city administration did not want to decide carelessly on Tanah Abang arrangement before conducting proper dissemination. Thus, he went on, the city officials have yet announced that mid-term planning concept.

"Learning from the first stage, we do not want to rush. We're being pushed, by all of you and netizens, it made us do it in a hurry," said Sandiaga.
