TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is definitely a heaven for surfers all over the world. Many interesting spots in Indonesia are worth to try out and pump the adrenaline. In Sumatra alone, there are at least three favorite locations to go surfing.

Not surprisingly, many foreign tourists with surfboards crowd the following three locations:

1. Nias Islands

Two surfing spots in Nias Islands, North Sumatra, are included in the 10 best spots in the world. These two spots are known as The Point and Indicator. Both spots are in Sorake Beach, where rolling waves continuously emerge throughout the year.

Sorake beach is located in Lagundri Bay. For the tourist who doesn’t surf, enjoying Sorake beach and Lagundri Bay is still intriguing.

In addition, other attractions in Nias Island, such as Pink Beach or Gawu Soyo in Toyolawa Beach, Tureloto Beach, Hinako Islands, and of course the stone jumping tradition.

3. Krui, West Coast, Lampung

Krui is the capital of the West Coast, Lampung. To reach the location from Bandar Lampung, tourists need to travel overland about 6-7 hours.

The surfers, mostly from abroad, like to gather on Tanjung Setia beach. This area has indeed become a special area with a row of homestays.
