TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Heavy rainfall since Thursday afternoon, February 22, until midnight has caused some street in Bandung, West Java, inundated by floods.
West Java National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Spokesman Joshua Banjarnahor said currently the SAR team is collecting data on the number of houses and residents affected by the flood. "One Bandung SAR office conducted an assessment as well as evacuation of residents affected by floods in Bandung and surrounding areas," he said via a text message on Friday.

Several roads, such as Soekarno Hatta, Caringin, Kopo, Antapani, Koja Sand, Leuwi Panjang, Pagarsih, Cibaduyut, and several other areas were reported badly flooded in varying heights. In some places, the flood water reached up to the height of an adult shoulder.
A number of motorists were forced to stop the vehicle and wait until the flood receded.
The floods not only hit the city of Bandung, Bandung Regency area including Majalaya, Bojongsoang, Andir, and Baleendah also submerged due to the Citarum River flows increased.
Furthermore, the traffic from Bandung-Rancaekek precisely around Kahatex area was closed as Bandung inundated by the heavy flood.
