TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2018 Asian Games (INASGOC) committee stated that they would temporarily redirect traffic surrounding the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium area in Senayan, Jakarta, during the Asian Games test event on February 8-February 15.
“There will be traffic engineering around the GBK area, which is the main location of the 2018 Asian Games test events,” said Eris Herryanto, INASGOC Secretary-General on Wednesday evening.

The traffic management also involves Jakarta Metro Police and Jakarta’s transportation agency.
Traffic will also be managed at the public roads around the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) where some of the pre-events participated by athletes and officials from 18 contingents will also be taking place.
“A smooth flow of traffic is important for the movements of every component that are involved. The traffic redirections must also be tested so that athletes and officials would not get stuck in traffic during the main events in August,” Erick further explained.
According to Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directory Grand Commissioner Halim Pagara, the traffic management will be focused on the access route entering and exiting the GBK Senayan area. Transjakarta bus lanes will also be used for vehicles that carry the official Asian Games sticker.
