TEMPO.CO, Cengkareng - Garuda Indonesia received an international award through the Asean Tourism Awards 2018 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Friday, January 26. Garuda awarded for the Best Asean Airlines Program category.
The award was given by the Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya, to Director of Marketing and IT Garuda Indonesia, Nina Sulistyowati.
Garuda Indonesia won because of the “AyoLiburan” (Let’sTraveling) program. The program is considered successful in promoting Indonesia's tourism potential and supporting the increase of tourist arrivals to Indonesia.
“The achievements we get are certainly making us very proud. Through our distinctive Garuda Indonesia Experience service, we are committed to continuously supporting government programs especially in promoting Indonesia by introducing all the best from Indonesia,” Nina said in a press statement on Monday, January 29.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said the award has three meanings: raising confidence as a nation, raising credibility as a country, and serving as a calibration to describe Indonesia's tourism potential.
“AyoLiburan” is a travel package program of cooperation between Garuda Indonesia with a bank partner that offers travel packages with interesting destinations in Indonesia. Such as Belitung, Labuan Bajo, Malang, Padang and Banyuwangi.
According to Nina, the program facilitates the tourists to explore various destinations homeland. As well as a commitment for Garuda Indonesia’s effort to increase the national tourism potential, especially to reach the target of 20 million tourists visit in 2019.
