"PPP have no problems with accepting HTI cadre as long as they obey NKRI and Pancasila," PPP chairman Muhammad Romahurmuziy said in Jakarta on Friday, July 21.
Romi, as Romahurmuziy is usually called, said that the former members of HTI are still brothers of the homeland. He urged former HTI members to keep engage in da`wah (proselytization in Islam) by implementing amar ma'ruf nahi munkar (enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong).
He added that proselytization can be done not only through HTI but also through any mass organizations, including PPP.
Regarding HTI disbandment, Romi added that Indonesia is the 12th country that disbanded the organization. Even in Aceh, Romi said, all its activities were banned 2 years ago. Despite the case, Romi pinpointed that HTI members are still considered as fellow Muslims.
