TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo delivered a speech calling for cooperation in corruption eradication efforts among G20 countries at the G-20 Summit in Hangzhou, China on Monday, September 5, 2016.

"I believe that G20 [countries] must also strengthen ties in anti-corruption efforts," President Jokowi said when speaking during the second session at the G20 Summit.

President Jokowi added that Indonesia could be an example for G20 countries actively involved in eradicating corruption.

President Jokowi revealed that several endeavors initiated to wage war against corruption in Indonesia include promoting transparency in the private sector, as well as educating public about anti-corruption values.

The anti-corruption topic had been brought up at G20 summits over the last few years. In this year, China as the host of the summit brought the international anti-corruption spirit to the next level.

Over the last three years, China had established cooperation in corruption eradication efforts with 89 countries, including Indonesia. Indonesia and China had signed 44 extradition agreements and 57 legal and justice aids agreements.
