
TEMPO.CO, Probolinggo - Mount Bromo is reported to have erupted by 110 times over the last 12 hours as of this morning, January 21.
The seismic data was obtained by the Bromo Volcano Observation Post (PGA) after recording Bromo's activities since Wednesday night.
The seismic data TEMPO obtained showed sharp spikes, which depicted eruptions and quakes. As of this6:00 am this morning, the volcano is still experiencing tremors with maximum amplitudes of 2-17 millimeters. The PGA also recorded 62 eruptions with maximum amplitudes of 16-36 millimeters with earthquakes lasting between 10 and 53 seconds.
Thick greyish smoke can be seen coming out of the volcano with a height of up to 1,800 meters or 4,129 meters above sea levels. Rumbles can be heard from the craters, and fire sparks can be seen every once in a while.
This development is quite significant compared to Wednesday afternoon's when there were 48 kali earthquake eruptions lasting from 14 to 44 seconds.
The volcano is still on level 3 or alert level as of today.
