TEMPO.CO, Lombok - The number of foreign tourists who take direct flight to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) without stopping first in Bali, continues to soar. In August alone, there were 8,089 tourists from 11 countries visited Lombok.

Head of NTB Statistic Agency Wahyudin said the tourists are mostly come from Malaysia and China. Malaysia contribute to 3.551 tourists followed by China that contribute to 559 tourists. France and Germany each contribute to 545 and 492 tourists.

“The number of arrival is second to Malaysians,” Said Wahyudin about Chinese tourists.

In order to reach the target for 2015 tourist visit, NTB Tourism Agency went to Bandung to promote their cultural richness. The agency exhibited NTB’s Nyongkolan (traditonal wedding of Sasak tribe), presean (fighting tradition), Samawa and Mbojo traditional performance, and woven fabric, all wrapped in a cultural parade.
