TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An explosion has been reported in Alam Sutera Mall in South Tangerang on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. The blast - which reportedly occurred in one of the customer toilets of the mall's Lower Ground (LG) - is known to have sent customers fleeing out of the vicinity.
According to National Police (Polri) spokesperson Brig. Gen. Agus Rianto, eyewitnesses first reported the blast at 12.05pm. Deni, the mall's supervisor and one of the eyewitness on scene, said that the explosion came from a customer toilet at the mall's LG floor - which is primarily used by employees during lunch hour because of its' location at the mall's employee canteen, Borneo.
The explosion is known to have injured a canteen employee, Fian, who is being treated for burns and injuries on his left leg from the blast splinters. The victim is currently being treated at Alam Sutera Mall's on-site clinic. "The victim is being stabilised before he is referred to Omni Hospital," said Agus.
This is the second explosion from an unknown source at Alam Sutera Mall - the first explosion happened on July 10, 2015. Up to this point, police authorities have yet to be able to figure out the actual source behind both blasts.
