
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The dome of Al-Muhajirin mosque at Graha Paciran Indah residential complex in Paciran district, Lamongan, East Java, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, collapsed, killing one child and injuring six others.
The dead victim was under the name of Bunga (9), a resident of Glagah, Lamongan, whike six other victims were still receiving treatment at Suyudi hospital, Paciran.
Chief of Paciran District police Adj. Comr. Ilham said that the police were still investigating the cause of the incident. He also did not rule out the possibility that the dome collapsed because of the weak construction of the building because the pillars supporting the building could not support the weight of the buildings.
Ilham also said that the police had also questioned caretakers of the mosque but the police have yet to name suspect of this case.
In the meantime, Paciran district head Suharto said that the local government was questioning a number of caretakers of the mosque. He also said that the local government would provide compensation for the victims.
