TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Oman Air has officially served a direct flight to Oman from Jakarta.
This is the first time in Indonesia we have a direct flight to Oman with the route CGK (Cengkareng)-MCT (Muscat) and MCT (Muscat)-CGK (Cengkareng)," said Manager of Public Relations and Protocol of Soekarno Hatta Airport Yudis Tiawan in a written statement to Tempo.
The airline, with the flight code of WY 847, officially operated in Indonesia after it landed for the first time on December 12, 2014 at 1:50pm.
"The flight with both the route CGK-MCT and MCT-CGK is scheduled to fly three times in a week in December 2014. Later on, it will be four times in a week, starting January 2015,” Yudis said.
Yudis said that the operation of Oman Air would not add to the congestion of Soekarno Hatta airport as it uses non-prime time schedule.
Yudis also said that it was not the first time the airline operated in Asia.
"In South East Asia, the airline has already operated in Malaysia and Thailand. Now they are expanding to Indonesia," he said.
With the operation of Oman Air, the number of foreign airlines in Soekarno Hatta airport has now reached 32 airlines.
For passengers who are going to fly with Oman Air, they can do the check at Counter 99 to Counter 103 in Terminal 2D.
