TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama is planning to disband groups that cause riot when they conduct demonstration. The statement is related to the riot occurred when the Islamic Defender Front (FPI) conducted protest against Ahok who will become governor replacing Joko Widodo.

“My principle is that all organizations that are anarchic and want to change Pancasila and the constitution must be disbanded,” said Ahok on Monday.

He said the first task that the police has to accomplish is finding the person who caused the riot during the protest last Friday. In the incident, FPI threw rocks to DPRD building, injuring six policemen and damaging vehicles of some DPRD members.

However, disbanding FPI is not easy as FPI is not an official organization and has no license. “They don’t have license. We’re looking a way how to disband them,” siad Ahok.

He continued that forming an organization is the right of every person. They are also protected under the law to voice their opinions regarding several matters. Ahok opined that FPI violated te law for causing riot during demonstration. The case has been handed over to the police.

Ahok denied the statement by FPI chairman Muchsin Alatas, who said that the riots were caused by provocation from Ahok’s subordinates. Ahok added that the rocks and dirts are strong evidence that the riots were planned by FPI. “How could there be rocks and dirts at Kebon Sirih Street?”

Muchsin has not been able to comment on Ahok’s plan to disband his organization.
