TEMPO.CO, Padang - Indonesia has yet to score a gold medal in Asian Games Incheon 2014, collecting only three silver and two bronze medals. "This concerns me. Until the third day of Asian Games, we have not had a single gold medal," said Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo.
Minister Roy said Indonesia actually targets the top ten in this year's Asian Games. However, he was pessimistic that the country will achieve the target. "Top ten is pretty difficult," he said.
Roy added that Indonesia can only score five gold medals in Asian Games Incheon 2014. "It would be great if the soccer team wins. The disappointment of not making it to the top ten can be consoled," he said.
Previously, the ministry targeted athletes to score nine gold medals, bringing Indonesia to the top ten nations. Several branches that were expected to score gold medals are bicycle race, wushu, rowing, horse riding, soft tennis, and weightlifting.
