Indonesia Defeats Maldives, Securing a Spot in the Top Sixteen

TEMPO.CO, Incheon - Indonesia Under-23 National Team (U-23) defeated Maldives by 4-0 in the group match the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. The victory helps Indonesia to book a spot in the top 16.
Indonesia scored the first goal just 12th minutes into the game through the feet of Ramdani Lestaluhu. The next three goals were scored in the second half by Ferdinand Sinaga and Bayu Gatra. Ferdinand Sinaga, in particular, continued to display brilliant performances after previously scoring four goals against Timor Leste.
In the last group match, Indonesia will face Thailand on Monday, September 22, 2014, which will likely be a match to decide the group runner-up position. Unluckily, two Indonesian players, goalkeeper Andritany and goalscorer Ramdani Lestaluhu, are suffering from injury.
