TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Officers of the Central Java Natural Resource Conservation Agency (BKSDA) has saved a leopard (Panthera pardus melas) which was trapped in a chicken coop belonging to a resident of Kita Agung village, Cilacap Regency.
“Thank God, the evacuation was completed last night (Tuesday, June 17) around 21:00 pm. The leopard is currently save st the Dayeluhur district office waiting for medical team that was sent by Central Java BKSDA,” said a Forest Ranger Coordinator of BKSDA Rahmat Hidayat as quoted by Antara News.
The leopard, having 70 centimeters length and 30 kilograms weight, was suffering of 2 to 3-centimeter wide and 60-centimeter long wound both on its front and rear right shoulders.
“We are still waiting for further instruction from the Central Java BKSDA Head in Semarang regarding the young leopard,” Hidayat explained.
