TEMPO.CO, Sidrap - Head Chief of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Lt. Gen. Marciano Norman said security measures for Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo had to be tightened following the tapping of his home office.
Marciano said the tightening measure is the better and well-managed security since the governor is a state official.
"I hoped that if we do the follow-up of this measure, it has to be done well," he said when visiting the animal husbandry of PT. Berdikari United Livestock in Sidendreng Rappang, South Sulawesi province, along with Presient Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, yesterday.
Marciano suspected Jokowi’s official residence was subject to bugging because security measures were not done according to the procedure. "This should not have happened," said the BIN head.
Previously, three bugging devices were reportedly found in the dining room, living room and private parlor in the governor’s official residence. Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary-general Tjahjo Kumolo revealed the incident to the public on Thursday.
