TEMPO.CO, West Bank – Palestinian negotiators have cancelled a peace talk with Israel after a raid at a refugee camp in the West Bank on August 24. The raid was conducted by Israeli troops and killed three Palestinians including an employee of the United Nations.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Rami Hamdallah, said in a statement on August 27, that "such a crime proves the need for an urgent and effective international protection for our people."
Spokeswoman of the Israeli police said to AFP news agency that the officers were on a raid to arrest a "terrorist suspect" when more than 1,500 Palestinians took to the streets and attacked them with molotov cocktails and rocks.
The number of violence acts in the West Bank continues to increase since the beginning of 2013. Israeli troops have killed 14 Palestinians in eight months. Almost all of the victims were killed during a clash with Israeli soldiers.
