Following Romania Visit, Indonesia to Trade in East Europe Market

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After visiting Ukraine, the Trade Ministry officials also visited Romania as one of the destination countries for commerce. "Despite the visit to Romania being the first trade mission, we believe that Romania is a potential destination for the exploration and cooperation in trade and investments," said Gusmardi Bustami, Director General of Trade Ministry’s National Export Development on a press release, Wednesday, May 29.
During the trade mission to Romania in May 27 to 29, Indonesian delegates conducted a business forum accommodated by the Indonesian Embassy in Romania and the Romanian Chamber of Commerce. The forum involved local government and business representatives.
In the forum, Gusmardi addressed Indonesia’s macro-economic growth a potential for a bilateral cooperation in commerce.
Indonesia is in a strategic position. The country is the world’s 15th largest economy among other ASEAN countries. In addition, along with China and India, Indonesia has been considered one of the most resilient countries during the recent global economic crisis.
