Based on information received by Tempo News Room from an aid post for flood victims in Bukit Lawang village, Bahorok sub district, Langkat, the Search and Rescue (SAR) team has found 70 dead victims of the floods in the area, which is around 84 kilometers to the north of Medan.
It is likely that the number of victims will increase considering that at least 110 people are still listed as missing.
Six foreign tourists were among the dead victims of the Langkat flash flood.
They were Mathias (30), from Vienna, Austria, Tan Tek Kai (32), from Singapore, Elly (25) from Germany, Roy and Ross from the Netherlands and Florian Luf (27) from Austria.
The area hit by the flood is the Bukit Barisan Mountains that borders with the Gunung Leuser Nacional Park area.

Bahorok sub district, located on the edge of the Bahorok river, was worst by the flooding that has claimed so many lives, said Edy Sofyan, spokesman for the North Sumatra Government.
As reported earlier, heavy rain has fallen in several regencies in North Sumatra, including Deli Serdang and Langkat, and also the city of Medan.
