TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has removed Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), effective June 2, 2026.
Top government spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi announced the removal at a press conference at the Presidential Office in Jakarta late Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
"Today, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the President has decided to change the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency," Prasetyo said.
Dadan's post is now replaced by Nanik Suryati Dayang, who previously served as Deputy Head of BGN.
Dadan, who was still the Head of BGN on Tuesday morning, came alongside President Prabowo to inspect the operation of the free nutritious meal (MBG) kitchen in Palmerah, West Jakarta. Afterward, Prabowo also inspected the implementation of MBG at State Junior High School (SMPN) 111 Jakarta.
Dadan, an entomologist from IPB University, was officially appointed Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) by former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as stipulated under Presidential Decree No. 94B of 2024.
Dadan was inaugurated on August 19, 2024, along with other state officials during President Jokowi's administration.
He retained his position under Prabowo's rule until June 2, 2026.
BGN was established to implement one of the government's priority programs, the free nutritious meal program, which was one of President Prabowo Subianto's campaign pledges in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election.
The free meal program is intended to provide healthy and nutritious food for school students, toddlers, and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. The program kicked off on January 6, 2025.
