TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Persero, Bobby Rasyidin, revealed that the company will build a monument to commemorate the 16 victims of the train collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the Commuter Line train (KRL), which occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Bekasi Timur Station.
Apart from commemorating the victims, the monument construction also serves as a form of condolence to the families of the victims. "We want to build a monument here. Please support us," said Bobby at East Bekasi Station on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Bobby explained that his entire staff will take care of the flowers currently adorning East Bekasi Station. The KAI staff will tend to the flowers sent by citizens and leave them in place so that the deceased victims will not be forgotten. "If possible, we want them to last as long as possible. We asked for them to be watered, and so we water them," he expressed.
Bobby ensured that his company assisted all victims, both the deceased and those still under medical care. "We escorted them to their grave, and of course, we took care of all the rights of the victims. For the injured victims, we also provided full assistance," he said.
The collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL train occurred at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday, April 27, 2026. The collision took place on platform 2. The KRL on platform 2 from Jakarta to Cikarang then stopped. A few minutes later, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train arrived and collided with the women's carriages. As a result, 16 people died, and 91 others were injured.
