Over 338,700 Vehicles Return to Greater Jakarta Post Eid al-Adha Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jasa Marga stated over 338,796 vehicles returned to Jabotabek or Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi) area during Eid al-Adha holiday on Monday and Tuesday, June 17-18, 2024.
"This is the cumulative figure of traffic from four main toll gates, namely the Cikupa toll gate (from Merak), the Ciawi toll gate (from Puncak), the Cikampek Main toll gate (from Trans Java), and the Kalihurip Main Toll Gate (from Bandung). The total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased by 31.16 percent compared to normal," said Marketing & Communication Department Head of PT Jasa Marga Faiza Riani in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
The return flow towards Greater Jakarta came mainly from three directions with 174,302 vehicles (51.45 percent) from the east (Trans Java and Bandung), 82,451 vehicles (24.34 percent) from the west (Merak), and 82,043 vehicles ( 24.22 percent) from the south (Puncak).
Traffic returning to Greater Jakarta from Trans Java via the Main Cikampek Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road amounted to 85,481 vehicles, an increase of 72.71 percent from normal traffic.
The traffic from Bandung through the Kalihurip Main Toll Gate on the Cipularang Toll Road amounted to 88,821 vehicles, an increase of 58.01 percent from normal traffic.
From the direction of Merak through the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, 82,451 vehicles returned to Greater Jakarta, 10.47 percent lower than normal traffic.
Faiza Riani said that on Tuesday, a day after Eid al-Adha, traffic returning to Greater Jakarta at the four main toll gates amounted to 184,353 vehicles or an increase of 45.9 percent from normal traffic.
