TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Military or TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said his institution has prepared troops for peace operations in Gaza, Palestine, which will later evacuate a thousand Gaza patients to Indonesia.

He said that Indonesia has prepared two hospitals to receive thousands of Palestinian patients due to Israeli attacks. "At the Gatot Subroto Central Army Hospital and General Soedirman Hospital in South Jakarta," he said while attending the MUI event in Jakarta on Friday, June 14, 2024.

He revealed that the peacekeeping force would prepare two floating field hospitals. The hospital ships that sailed to Palestine were the Indonesian warships Wahidin and Radjiman.

Agus said the two hospital ships were equipped with supporting facilities. These include operating rooms, treatment rooms, morgue rooms, pharmacies, clinics, and emergency units. "We have prepared a field hospital there that can treat 100 patients," he said.

For emergency evacuation, the peacekeeping force has two helicopters, the Air Force's Dolphin Helicopter and the Navy's Panther Helicopter. There are also three aircraft for troop movement and logistics. "These planes will bring patients (from Palestine) to Indonesia," he said.

Agus added that the peacekeepers' composite brigade would bring along 30 support vehicles for logistics, sanitation, ambulance, and fuel supply while in Gaza, Palestine.

Previously, the TNI had sent humanitarian aid to Palestine on three occasions. The first delivery of humanitarian aid took place from November 4 to 8, 2023, by air. In this task, 44 personnel were involved in sending 28 tons of critical needs such as food, medicine, and the needs of women and children.

The second delivery of humanitarian aid took place from January 18 to March 15, 2024. The TNI sent 242 tons of critical needs by sea from El Arish Pier, Egypt.

Finally, from March 29 to April 7, 2024, the Indonesian Air Force sent humanitarian aid to Palestine by plane. The delivery of humanitarian aid is carried out using the airdrop method.
