TEMPO.CO, Bandarlampung - Spokesperson for state-owned electricity company PLN of Lampung Distribution Unit, Darma Saputra, revealed the cause of power outages on several transmission networks on Sumatra Island, which have occurred since Tuesday, June 4.
He confirmed that there was a disruption in the transmission of the 275 kV SUTT Lubuk Linggau - Lahat in South Sumatra, which impacted the electricity system in the working area of Lampung Province.
Hundreds of personnel have been deployed to restore the affected electricity system. “PT PLN is moving quickly to overcome power problems that have occurred on a number of transmission networks on Sumatra Island, one of which is in Lampung Province,” Darma said in Bandarlampung on Tuesday, June 4, as reported by Antara.
“PLN apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by our customers. Currently, officers are trying to make it normal,” said Darma.
Iwan Arissetyadhi, a spokesperson for PLN of South Sumatra, Jambi, and Bengkulu (S2JB) Distribution Unit, previously stated that the disrupted 275 kV Linggau-Lahat SUTT transmission system was an inter-connection network, so when a disruption occurs, it will impact many regions in Sumatra.
Consequently, the power occurred in South Sumatra, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, Jambi, and Bengkulu. Iwan claimed that the electricity in other Sumatra provinces, such as West Sumatra and Riau, was not disturbed.
