Anies Baswedan Meets Surya Paloh at NasDem Tower

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Anies Baswedan met with NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh after reading the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) on the election dispute on Monday afternoon, April 22. The meeting took place at the NasDem Tower in Gondangdia, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Anies arrived at around 5:45 p.m. and was greeted by the chairmen of NasDem's central executive committee (DPP), Charles Meikyansah and Sugeng Suparwoto.

Smiling to reporters as he entered the NasDem Tower, Anies did not answer when asked about the agenda of his meeting with Surya Paloh.

The Constitutional Court or MK has decided to dismiss the presidential election dispute petition filed by Anies and his running mate Muhaimin Iskandar.

Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Suhartoyo, read out the decision at the MK building in Central Jakarta today. "The decision is made. Judgment denying the petitioner's request in its entirety," Suhartoyo said as he banged the gavel.

The MK also rejected the exception or objection of the General Election Commission or KPU as the respondent and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the related party.

The decision was not reached by a unanimous vote of all MK judges. The three dissenting constitutional court judges were Saldi Isra, Arief Hidayat and Enny Nurbaningsih.
