TWC Sees 243,821 Tourist Visits during Eid Holidays, Mostly to Borobudur

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko, also known as In Journey Destination Management (IDM), saw an increase in tourist visits during the Eid holidays. From April 8 to 15, the three temples, the Ramayana Performance Theater and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) received 243,821 tourist visits.
"Borobudur Temple remains as the site with the highest number of visits with 63,427 tourists," IDM marketing and business development director Hetty Herawati said on Thursday, April 18.
In second and third place were the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park and the Ratu Boko Palace Tourism Park, which together received 82,138 visits, accounting for 35 percent of all tourist visits to the Sleman district, "which totaled 234,319 tourists," she said.
The Ramayana, Roro Jonggrang and Shinta Obong ballet performances in the Prambanan area garnered visits from 2,015 tourists. Meanwhile, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) attracted 95,485 visitors.
Mostly from Greater Jakarta
Hetty said the peak of visits to Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko Palace occurred on April 12, 2024, where they saw 32,050 people visiting.
"Visits to Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko were dominated by local tourists from Greater Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and Medan."
At TMII, the busiest day was on April 13, with 21,327 people visiting the miniature Indonesia park.
