TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism Western Australia has launched a Muslim-friendly travel guide specifically designed for Indonesian travelers. The guide, titled Western Australia Muslim Travel Guide Walking on a Dream, is deliberately released ahead of the post-Ramadan or Eid al-Fitr holiday season.
Melissa Forbes, Executive Director of Tourism Western Australia, said that the launch of Panduan Wisata Muslim is timely for Indonesian tourists with the Eid al-Fitr holiday season approaching.
Western Australia is quite close to Indonesia, so it does not take much time to travel there and the price is relatively affordable.
The book serves as a comprehensive source of information not only for Indonesian Muslim tourists but also for the general public when visiting Western Australia.
“Although the title of the book is Muslim guide, all the contents can be used as guidance for everyone when visiting Western Australia,” Julianti Muljadi, the Country Director of Tourism Western Australia, said in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 20.
Julianti also said that the launch of this guide is a fundamental milestone for Western Australia’s special tourism agency. “This is a real manifestation of Western Australia's commitment to reach out to all Indonesian tourists from all segments, providing Muslim-friendly destinations and facilities,” she added.
The book provides information on Muslim-friendly tourist destinations including halal food options, mosques or worship centers, and travel tips. While not all restaurants and cafes listed in the guide are officially certified halal, Western Australia Tourism assures that these establishments offer menus that do not use non-halal cooking ingredients.
The Western Australia Muslim Travel Guide is also available online at westernaustralia.com.
