"On this occasion, I also implore private companies and community organizations to provide free homecoming services, " Muhadjir said.
The government also prepares sea transport to carry vehicles during the free homecoming program.
Muhadjir said that the government will implement the free homecoming program in stages starting from April 5. Furthermore, he urged travelers using public transportation to buy tickets and check in online to reduce queues.
"[Buy tickets] D-1 at the latest. Don't come to the station or crossing point without a ticket to avoid difficulties. The procedures this year are so much more organized than previous years,” he said.
For information, Muhadjir estimates that the peak of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow is expected to occur on April 5-7 with the return flow on April 14-15.
