Rian D'Masiv Apologizes for Wearing John Mayer Shirt at Taylor Swift Show

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A singer of Indonesian pop-rock band D'Masiv, Rian D'Masiv, recently faced reproach from Taylor Swift fans for his Instagram post showing him wearing a John Mayer t-shirt while attending the Eras Tour concert in Singapore.

“Being swifties for today @taylorswift,” the 37-year-old man wrote on his personal Instagram on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The post sparked a lot of criticism from netizens as he was deemed rude for donning a shirt with a photo and name of Swift’s ex-boyfriend written at the concert.

Nevertheless, Rian defended himself by stating that he often wears other musicians' clothing when attending concerts. “I often watch musicians wearing other musicians' t-shirts,” he wrote in the comments of his Instagram post.

Furthermore, he asserted that he had no specific intention of wearing a John Mayer shirt at the concert, claiming that it was an accidental occurrence because it was the only shirt left in his suitcase.

“I don't really know her personal life... what I want to know is her music, concept, and stage set,” Rian wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Eventually, Rian D'Masiv apologized for causing a stir on the internet. “I apologize, Swifties,” he wrote.
