TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said tax revenues in Indonesia reached Rp149.25 trillion as of January 31, 2024.
"This means that we have collected 7.5 percent of the State Budget (APBN) target," said Sri Mulyani in a press conference held virtually on Thursday, Feb. 22.
In detail, she explained, tax revenues consisted of non-oil and gas income tax (PPh) of Rp83.69 trillion and value-added tax or VAT of Rp57.76 trillion.
Land and building tax or PBB of Rp810 billion and oil and gas PPh of Rp6.99 trillion are also added to the list. Non-oil and gas PPh contributed the largest tax revenue in this period.
"If we look at gross tax revenue, it is still increasing," said the former Managing Director of the World Bank.
In January 2021, she said, the tax revenues amounted to Rp92.32 trillion. Meanwhile, in January 2022 and 2023, the revenue reached Rp103.80 trillion and Rp274.41 trillion respectively.
According to Sri Mulyani, tax revenues in the first month of this year were still quite positive, despite being lower than in the previous two years.
"So, we are talking about a high baseline here," the minister concluded.
