TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Tangerang District Prosecutor's Office arrested the fraud fugitive Roland Yahya, aged 44, after voting for the 2024 general elections at a polling station (TPS) in the Kramat area, South Jakarta.
Head of the Prosecutor's Office, Silpia Rosalina, said that Roland was arrested by the intelligence team at the Attorney General's Office and the South Tangerang Prosecutor's Office after casting his vote at around 12:00 local time.
"Just outside the polling station after he voted," she said on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Silpia said that the arrest was carried out as a follow-up to a Supreme Court Decision No: 872 K/Pid/2021 dated October 6, 2021.
Roland Yahya was legally proven to have committed embezzlement and sentenced and the Supreme Court sentenced him to one year in prison.
Roland Yahya was then brought to Class II A Tangerang Youth Prison to serve his sentence in accordance with the Supreme Court decision.
“The convict was on the wanted list since 2021 and has been apprehended,” she concluded.
