TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained another suspect in the alleged corruption scandal at the Manpower Ministry. The suspect, the director of PT AIM (Adi Inti Mandiri) Karunia, was detained at the KPK Detention Center last Monday.

“Detention starts on Monday, January 29 until February 17, 2024,” the KPK’s spokesperson Ali Fikri said in a statement on Tuesday, January 30.

The anti-graft body had named three suspects in the alleged graft scandal which revolves around the 2012 procurement project of the Indonesian worker protection system at the Manpower Ministry.

KPK Deputy Chief Alexander Marwata said that two suspects had been detained, namely the Manpower Ministry's Director General of Labor Placement and Transmigration Development for the 2011-2015 period, Reyna Usman, and the Manpower Ministry’s commitment maker for the project, I Nyoman Darmanta.

“Karunia is a private party, Director of PT AIM, we call for cooperation and attendance at the next summons,” Alex said at a press conference on Thursday, January 25.

In his latest statement, Ali said that the KPK team was still working on the investigation and summoning various parties as witnesses. “We will disclose the developments later,” he said.
