TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will welcome the visit of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan in the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java today, Thursday, Jan. 25. A number of documents to boost both countries' cooperation in various sectors have been prepared.
The Indonesian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the visit. Vice Minister Pahala Mansury previously welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania January Makamba on Tuesday.
Some potential cooperations in various sectors including trade, investment, oil and gas, mineral, energy, blue economy, and development have been discussed by Pahala Mansury and January Makamba. Indonesia and Tanzania agreed to finalize several documents during President Samia's visit.
This would be the first of the Tanzanian President's visit to Indonesia, in response to Jokowi's visit to the country last August.
"This momentum must be maintained, hence this visit by President Samia is important to us for the sake of sustainable cooperation of both countries going forward," Makamba said in a written statement on Wednesday.
