TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The conflict between two countries in the Middle East, Israel and Palestine, seems to never end. A number of countries around the world are paying more attention to the political crisis experienced by these two countries. This has given rise to several camps both pro and con, including countries that are anti-Israel.
Pro-Israel State
Until now, it is known that the Israeli military continues to destroy Palestinian settlements. Efforts to expand territory continue to be intensified, including using various sophisticated and deadly weapons.
However, countries such as Japan, the United States and the European Union also recognize Israel's independence as a sovereign state.
These countries have begun to carry out bilateral cooperation with Israel, such as in the educational, scientific and economic fields. In the end, there were 161 countries on good terms and 94 recorded diplomatic missions that had been carried out by the Zionist State.
Not only Western countries, Arab countries are also starting to react to Israel's actions. For example, Egypt signed a peace pact in 1979, followed by Jordan in 1994 and Mauritania in 1999. And most recently the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
List of Anti-Israel Countries
After the Gaza war in 2009, several countries wanted to stop partnering with Israel. Countries such as Qatar, Mauritania, Venezuela and Bolivia then decided on diplomacy. Apart from that, other countries have also stated that they are anti-Israel, namely Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria and Iraq.
Even though there are 193 countries that recognize Israel's independence by de jure, there are quite a few who directly call the Jewish-majority country a nation that is not worthy of material and moral support from other countries. So, which countries openly condemn Israel?
Reporting from The News International page, At least 30 countries have expressed their dislike for Israel's atrocious aggression against the Palestinian people. These countries include:
1. Afghanistan,
2. Algeria,
3. Saudi Arabia,
4. Bahrain,
5. Bangladesh,
6. Bhutan,
7. Brunei Darussalam,
8. Djibouti,
9. Indonesia,
10. Iraq,
11. Iran,
12. Comoros,
13. North Korea,
14. Cuba,
15. Kuwait,
16. Lebanon,
17. Libya,
18. Malaysia,
19. Mali,
20. Morocco,
21. Niger,
22. Oman,
23. Pakistan,
24. Qatar,
25. Somalia,
26. Sudan,
27. Syria,
28. Tunisia,
29. Venezuela,
30. Yemen.
It is not without reason that Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population, rejects Israel's sovereignty. Some of them hope that the Palestinian people can lead a normal life without the shadow of bombings from Israel. Until now, Indonesia still does not recognize Israel's independence.
This was further strengthened by the attitude of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (2004-2014) to President Joko Widodo (2014 - present). Quoted from the official website of the Ahmad Dahlan Jakarta Institute of Technology and Business, Jokowi invited all state leaders from all corners of the earth to take part in stopping Israeli aggression.
The former Mayor of Solo also communicated with the Prime Minister of Singapore, the President of Turkey (Turkiye), the King and Prime Minister of Malaysia, the President of Afghanistan, and the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam.
“Indonesia condemns the Israeli attacks which have claimed hundreds of lives, including women and children. Israel's aggression must end immediately," said Jokowi in a tweet on his Twitter account on May 15, 2021.
This statement makes it even more convincing that Indonesia is also on the list of countries that hate Israel. Not only based on religious equality, but the Indonesian people also prioritize the humanitarian side in the hope that the atrocious aggression carried out by Israel will end.
