TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National defense is an important aspect that needs to be maintained by a government. According to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Defense Regulation Number 6 of 2012, national defense is all efforts to uphold state sovereignty, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, and the safety of the entire nation. One of the general national defense policies is military defense.
Each country has different military strengths. Its existence is none other than to protect territorial integrity from all threats from within and outside the country. A country with a strong military defense system can maintain stability and security and improve its position in the international world. So, which countries have the strongest military currently?
Country with the Strongest Military in the World
Global Fire Power (GFP) releases world military rankings based on more than 60 factors to determine the Nation's Power Index or PwrIndx. These determining factors include the number of military units, financial position, logistical capabilities and geography.
Indonesia is in 13th place in the country with the strongest military in 2023. With 0.0000 points as the perfect standard score, Indonesia's military strength received a power index score of 0.2221 in the latest ranking.
For the 2023 GFP review, a total of 145 world military powers were considered. The following is a list of the strongest military rankings in the world in 2023 along with the PwrIndx results of each country.
