Jakarta Closes 26 Roads on New Year's Eve

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Jakarta Transportation Agency announced the traffic diversion on New Year's Eve 2024 as 26 roads will be closed.

Syafrin Liputo, the agency’s head, explained that the traffic reroute will be implemented around Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin from 7 p.m. on December 31, 2023, until 1 a.m. on January 1, 2024. 

Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin in Central Jakarta is the capital’s main road that will host the annual year-end festival, Malam Muda Mudi, or the Night of the Youth.

“To support this activity, traffic diversion will be carried out to close the sections of Jalan MH Thamrin to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman at 26 points,” Syafrin explained as quoted from Antara today, Dec. 29.

Here is the list of 26 roads to be closed during the New Year's Eve celebrations:

1. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman: from Senayan Roundabout to HI Roundabout

2. Jalan MH Thamrin: from HI Roundabout to Horse Statue Roundabout

3. Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan

4. The west side of Jalan Lambat Kupingan Semanggi (Gatot Subroto) 

5. Jalan Bendungan Hilir 

6. Jalan KH Mas Mansyur

7. Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 5

8. Jalan Kupingan BNI 47

9. Jalan Kota Bumi and Jalan Baturaja

10. Jalan Teluk Betung

11. Jalan Kebon Kacang

12. Jalan Sunda 

13. Jalan Imam Bonjol

14. Jalan Sumenep Tosari

15. Landmark (Indocement)

16. Jalan Setiabudi and Jalan Prof Dr Satrio

17. Jalan Masjid (Sampoerna)

18. Jalan Garnisun and Kolong Semanggi
