TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Over a year after the COVID-19 restriction was lifted, travelers are lugging their suitcases again to their favorite holiday destinations. According to Airbnb, Jakarta and Bali are still Indonesians' top areas for a domestic getaway.
In a press conference on Wednesday, December 20, Airbnb said that they recorded Central Java, Bali, and Jakarta as the destinations most chosen by local tourists in Indonesia.
Domestic travel trends show that travelers want to visit and explore iconic cities, as well as stay in areas close to tourist attractions, and beautiful beaches. These include the city of Magelang where Borobudur is situated, Jakarta, and Bali.
Below are several domestic destinations popular among Indonesian travelers that are trending for the upcoming year-end holiday destinations, in no particular order:
