Wet Weather to Continue in Greater Jakarta Today, BMKG Announces

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released its forecast for today, Dec. 4, 2023, saying that wet weather was expected for most of the Greater Jakarta areas or Jabodetabek.
Quoting from its official page, light rain would shower West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta this afternoon, while cloudy skies would hang over Central Jakarta and North Jakarta. The rain would persist until the evening in the western and southern parts of the capital.
The air temperature would be between 24-29 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 85-100 percent.
For Jakarta’s neighbors, the agency issued an early warning for rain in parts of Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Bekasi, and Depok. “Beware of possible moderate to heavy rain with thunder and strong winds between noon and evening,” the forecast noted.
In the afternoon, thunderstorms were expected in Bekasi and Bogor. During the night, the two areas, which are part of West Java province, were likely to be soaked by light rain. Depok would also experience light to moderate rain throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Tangerang City would see wet weather due to rain in the afternoon, which would change to cloudy at night. “Beware of possible moderate to heavy rain with thunder and strong winds in the central and southern parts of Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City,” the BMKG announced.
